Choosing Your Wedding Package

Since wedding packages are based on time, "How much coverage do we need?" is a question every couple has to ask themselves before booking a wedding photographer. I offer three packages that are designed to meet different budgets and coverage needs. You can book just 6 hours with 1 photographer - great for those smaller weddings in one location, keeping it simple. I also offer 8 hours with the lead photographer and 6 hours with a second shooter - perfect for plenty of bride-getting-ready coverage and time for a first look. Then there's 10 hours with the lead photographer and 8 hours with a second shooter, which will give you grand exit coverage.

(Why 2 hours less coverage by the second shooter? Simple - the groom doesn't take as long to get ready, so why pay for what you don't need?)

As a wedding photojournalist, I capture your day as it unfolds - and how it unfolds is completely up to you. But, since I've shot over 85 weddings, with my experience, I can definitely provide some solid sample timelines based on many of these past weddings, as a way to help you make your wedding photography booking decision.

Silver Wedding Package: 6 Hours, 1 Photographer

6 Hours with Lead Photographer (No First Look*)

1st hour: Bridal details, bride getting her hair & make-up done; groom details, groom getting ready, formal portraits of groom, groom with groomsmen / close family

2nd hour: Fun bridal party in robes photos, bride getting into dress, formal portraits of bride, bride with bridesmaids / close family, pre-ceremony / guests

3rd hour: Ceremony, couple’s portraits, wedding party portraits

4th hour: Family portraits, grand entrance, reception dinner begins, couple’s sneak-away outdoor sunset session

5th hour: Dinner, toasts

6th hour: Cake-cutting, first dances, open dancing, bouquet/garter tosses (optional)

*If you want to have a first look with this package, I recommend adding an hour of coverage. Alternatively, you can reduce your "getting ready" coverage time by one hour, with me spending 20 minutes or so with the groom before heading over to the bride for the rest of the hour. You'll need to be getting ready near each other, either in the same hotel or both at the venue, and bridal hair & make-up should be all ready finished by my arrival. (See my Wedding Planning Tips blog post for some more ideas like this that may help to relieve some stress on your special day.)
